Four years ago, some dear friends got married, Kelly and Ben. I was honored to sing a song for the lovebirds during their ceremony. Another friend, Danielle, made special earrings for the women involved in the wedding.
I have always cherished those earrings that Danielle made for Kelly’s wedding. And being a part of that day, is a treasure I carry with me, and I think of both of them and the beauty of human connection every time I wear them.
However, one always tends to fall out. I have no idea why, it is shaped exactly as it should be and it doesn’t happen with other earrings. And I kept forgetting to put a backer on! When I would discover it was gone I would be so sad & search desperately and not find it. BUT, and it has happened 4 times now, the missing earring always comes back to me.
One time it was caught in a scarf, one time it was at a friend’s house and they came across it, one time it was on my front steps the next morning when I went to work, and I forget the other time.
I’m a fairly agnostic person, but I believe in things we can’t always understand. And while all of this could be just a coincidence, I have to wonder if it’s the universe reminding me that sometimes we can find again what we thought we had lost forever. And also that we must honor and cherish our connections to each other, because they may just be the power that brings those lost things back to us.
Much love to all my friends and our human connections. 💚💚

PS. I have backers for them now, I promise! 😜
